Our Christmas Letter...

Hello Family and Friends!
This has been a very exciting year for Steven and I! In May we bought our first home in Pima, Arizona and since then we have been slowly fixing it up. We had to completely put in new sub flooring and retexture most of the walls. Steven has been working on putting up a picket fence and it looks really good. It has been very fun to have a place of our own but we definitely have had to come to terms with the realities of actually owning a home! We didn’t know that there were so many bills you had to pay!!!! We are very grateful though for the opportunity to have a home and we feel extremely blessed.
Steven and I also celebrated our one year anniversary in July and we couldn’t be happier! We can’t believe how fast time fly’s! We also found out that we are expecting our first baby, in March of 2008 and we are thrilled! We are having a little girl and we finally decided on the name Aubrey Ruth. Things haven’t gone exactly the way we have planned with our sweet little girl. We found out that she has a genetic disorder that causes her to have multiple problems with her little body and so we won’t be able to have her with us very long after she is born. Our main goal is to be able to spend as much time with her as possible before she goes. We are definitely heart broken by the news but we feel extremely blessed to have this special little Aubrey in our family forever!
Steven: is taking classes at Eastern Arizona and is working towards a science degree. He is working at a civil engineering firm called PLS group in Thatcher and loving it. Steven sure has had a very busy semester working full time, going to school full time, fulfilling church callings, coaching the 8th grade boy’s basketball team and of course being a husband to a pregnant wife! Some how he has found time to get it all done and do it all very well!
Kami: I am taking a few classes at Eastern Arizona College to help me get into the Elementary education program at ASU. I also got a part time job at Bashas working two days a week for a few hours. It’s nice to keep busy and we love the few extra dollars. I am now working in the Young Women’s and really enjoying it. I feel like I should still be one of the girls not a leader! I am also just enjoying being pregnant and trying to prepare for a little baby here at our house!
Steven and I have been truly blessed this year and we can definitely see the Lords hand in our life! We are so grateful for our family and friends! We hope you have a great Christmas and a very happy New Year!!

Love,
Steven and Kami Palmer

I read about little Aubrey on your mom's blog, and had to go to the Trisomy 18 link before I came here. I found myself in tears a lot, especially knowing that this grief will not go away quickly for you. At first, I just wished I could take that grief away. But the more I read, the more I thought grief is a way of remembering - and remembering is important. I'm really so proud of you. I'm so happy to see pictures of your sweet little girl, and to see those fun pics of your preggie tummy! :) I just want you to know that I love you, and that you and your family are in my prayers.

As for the YW calling, how FUN! I'm convinced that YW is the most time-consuming auxiliary in the church, but it's also the most fun. I LOVED being in YW and still miss my girls sometimes. Thanks for having this blog and I hope you don't mind if I stop by from time to time. You left quite an impression on my heart, and I'm happy I get to see how you're doing now. :)
Hugs,
Donna

Okay, so I hope you don't think I am crazy...I found your blog through Kamarie's. I remember Kami from EA, although I didn't know her very well. I am sorry to hear about your baby, and it just made me think of my friends Jeff and Kayci. They lost their baby when Kayci was about 8 months along and I think she would love to talk to someone who has gone through something similar. If it isn't too weird, you can get to her blog through a link on my page that says Jeffrey & Kayci.

Hope you don't find me crazy!
